A world premiere as a Berlinale Specials gala will also take place for Treasure (also known as Iron Box), the 90-set English-language feature from German director Julia von Heinz (And Tomorrow The Entire World), which stars Lena Dunham and Stephen Fry as a neurotic businesswoman who takes her father, a Holocaust survivor, on a journey to Poland to make sense of her family's past.

Other Berlinale Specials titles included the documentary Abiding Nowhere, directed by Taiwanese filmmaker Tsai Ming-liang (Stray Dogs), which starred Hunter Schafer, Dan Stevens, and Jessica Henwick; Cuckoo, a film by German director Tilman Singer starring Hunter Schafer; and Dostoevsky, an Italian crime series based on the works of the great Russian writer and produced by the D'Innocenzo brothers (Bad Tales, Boys Cry).

Berlin also revealed a number of films for its Generations program of kid-friendly and youth films, including the debut feature The Major Tones by Argentine filmmaker Ingrid Pokropek, the film Who by Fire from Canadian director Philippe Lesage, and Elbow from German director Aslı Özarslan (full list below).

Not to mention, Berlin unveiled its official 2024 posters. The vivid red and blue graphics, created by Berlin-based graphic artist Claudia Schramke, feature close-ups of Berlin's famous Bear's paws, mouth, eyes, and ears.

The picture is intended to evoke a "attentive, open and approachable bear," which serves as a symbol for the Berlin festival as "an open place for our audience and the film industry," according to Berlinale executive director Mariëtte Rissenbeek.

Oscar-winning actor Lupita Nyong'o (12 Years a Slave, Black Panther) will serve as the head of the competition jury for the 2024 Berlin Film Festival. Berlinale 74 takes place from February 15–25, 2024.
