IPL: Preity Zinta's team Punjab Kings bought the 'wrong player' News
During the Indian Premier League (IPL) player auction, Preity Zinta's team Punjab Kings bought the 'wrong player' but by the time they realized their mistake, it was too late.
The player auction for IPL 2024 was held in Dubai on Tuesday where Preity Zinta's franchise bought Indian domestic cricketer Shashank Singh.
The Punjab Kings officials realized their mistake and informed the host of the program but were told that Shashank Singh's auction process has been completed and he is now a part of Punjab Kings.
In the video shared on social media, it can be seen that Preity Zinta and other officials of Punjab Kings are nervous about picking the 'wrong player'.
Shashank Singh belongs to the state of Chhattisgarh in India and Punjab Kings have acquired his services for 2 million Indian rupees.
Remember, in the auction yesterday, Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc became the most expensive player in the history of IPL, who was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders for INR 24.75 crore.
Amazing scenes here as the infamously incompetent Punjab Kings not only acquire Shashank Singh, a player they didn't want, but they also publicly acknowledge it. We can assume that Singh is sitting at home debating whether or not to attend in March.

The second most expensive player in the IPL, after Mitchell Starc, is Australian captain Pat Cummins, who Sunrisers Hyderabad paid INR 20.50 crore for.
